Workplace Flu Vaccination Programs

Influenza Vaccination Program

Established in 1990 as an independent, Australian-owned organisation, Health Watch Australia (HWA) is an AGPAL-accredited organisation which has been providing premium on-site vaccination programs for over 20 years.

HWA has extensive expertise in the provision of premium, on-site Influenza Vaccination Programs and prides itself on delivering unique, state-of-the-art practices and protocols with specific points of difference.
HWA is the largest Vaccination provider in Victoria and the preferred Vaccination Provider for the Victorian State Government. HWA has been vaccinating the Department of Health for over 15 years, and our practices and procedures are endorsed and approved by them.

Benefits of a Workplace Vaccination Program

Every season, the flu does more damage than most people realise.  Influenza is a highly contagious infection of the airways and affects people of all ages.

Although it can be a mild disease, it can also cause very serious illness in otherwise healthy people. It can require hospitalisation and can cause death.

In 2025, Australia reported over 500,000 lab-confirmed flu cases, the highest since records began and a 39% increase from 2024.

But there is something we can do about it.

Flu Vaccinations have been widely available since the 1940s and are a safe and effective way to protect you from serious disease caused by influenza.

Getting vaccinated helps reduce your risk of getting influenza, but can also reduce the severity of the virus.

Vaccinations are more than just for your team; they can:

  • Reduces the spread of infection not only in the workplace but to employees’ family members as well as the community as a whole.
  • Minimises the cost of absenteeism
  • Ease the burden on our Hospitals and GPs
  • Maintains productivity and increases safety in the workplace. Illness can slow a person’s reaction time by 20-40%.
  • Increases employee morale and allows your organisation to be a preferred employer of choice not only for your current employees but for future employees who are looking for an organisation that is interested in the health and well-being of their team.

Annual influenza vaccination is recommended for everyone from mid-April onwards to be protected for the peak influenza season, which is typically from June to September.

What you get when you partner with HWA

A program unique to your organisation

We recognise that each organisation has its own corporate culture, narrative, demographic, and charter, which we endeavour to respect and uphold at all times.

We recognise the importance of making our client/employee participant experience as enjoyable and trouble-free as possible, always exercising our best endeavours to ensure safety and efficiency at the ‘front end ‘, and flawless administration at the ‘back-end’.

A dedicated Program Manager

Your dedicated Program Manager will work directly with all stakeholders of the program and organise mutually agreeable dates and times based on your organisation’s needs. This will ensure the best coverage for improved uptake, be it allowing for those working a hybrid model or to cover different shifts.

Registered Division 1 Immunisation nurses

All staff are employees of HWA, many of whom have worked for HWA for many years. HWA do not use contractors or agency staff.
HWA only uses Registered Division 1 nurses who hold an immunisation certification in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations.

All HWA nurses are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with an excellent understanding of the latest edition of The Australian Immunisation Handbook and the National Vaccine Storage Guidelines: Strive for Five. All our nurses are trained in emergency management of adverse events and anaphylaxis and are CPR Certified.

Facilitators

Our unique policy of providing trained facilitators to assist the nurses is a significant point of difference, which helps to maximise the throughput and workflow of each session. This minimises the risks of potential delays such as unexpected road works, traffic congestion or lack of available local parking
